STRENGTH FOR TODAY

Hi all first of all let me say how encouraging it has been to read the comments that have come in from people who have found us through "Joshua's Story". AND IF ANYONE INTERESTED IN POSTING A COMMENT, JUST CLICK ON COMMENT AT BOTTOM OF POSTING YOU MAY DO IT ANONYMOUS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOG IN.
We have been having it rough but it is so evident to see the hand of GOD touchin us ever so lovingly and tenderly through out every moment. WE KNOW WE ARE NOT ALONE!!! On Monday we were having a rough day and Steve ended up in the emergency room with chest pains (thank God it turned out to be a bruised & swollen sternum and not anyhting more serious) Well this woman stopped me as I walked out of the bathroom and we began to talk she is a christian and I told her about Elijah she said she would pray. I went back into the room with Steve and after about 15minutes I heard a page over the loud speaker for Steve Douglas to call the hospital operator. I thought for sure it was my mom (she was watching Josiah). I went to the phone and called the operator and she said "please come to the front desk" so I went over and the woman stands up and smiles as she says, "I have a gift for you from Jesus (A BOOK) & a scripture for you & your husband" she said "and your husband will be well maybe this is the reason you came to the hospital today".
WOW IS GOD JUST SO AMAZING OR WHAT?!?! NEVER LETTING US FACE A MOMENT ALONE!
Today I just got back from school & Steve was getting ready to go to work but went to check the mail first. WE got the bank statement from Elijah's burial/memorial fund and found that some one made a deposit!!! also we got a greeting card in the mail (JUST AT THE MOMENT WE NEEDED IT)!!!! AND last night a couple from church blessed us with a gas card!!! HOW GREAT A GOD WE SERVE AND ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND US SHOWING US SO MUCH LOVE!!! WE JUST GOTTA SAY "ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE AWESOME!!!!!" Also my Tia Janie in Texas along with her church continue to send us their Love!!!! My Tia sends me cards and very encouraging magazines and her churches prayer cards have truely been a strength to us when we NEED it the most. The ladies at our church have put in place a prayer tree where someone prays for us daily WE CAN REALLY FEEL THE PRAYERS!!! AS I SIT HERE TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY FACE I MUST SAY THAT THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS OUR GRATTITUDE FOR ALL THE LOVE WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THROUGH YOU ALL!!!

NEED TO VENT!!!

Just got back from bible study. Went to check on Joshua's blog and caught up on some of the blogs I hadn't had a chance to read. I AM SCARED I MIGHT NOT BE WITH THE RIGHT Doctor!!!!! first of all, last month at my appointment She told me it was better to have him natural and today I read on Susie's blog exactly what I was afraid of If Elijah has this "waterballoon like sac" hanging outside his head holding his brain DUH wouldn't you think it will bust during labor !!!!!! well my doctor said it was the best thing. Yesturday we went to another appointment and I asked her for an MRI and she said NO! you dont want to see that, if I thought it would make you feel better I would but you don;t want to see all that " it's not good news" and she walked out!!!! SO IS MY PRECIOUS CHILDS LIFE IN THE HANDS OF A DOCTOR WHO DOESN'T VALUE HIS life simply because he was formed wih his brain outside of his head?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I always thought somthing bad could happen to him if he came through the birth canal!!! WHY DID'NT SHE TELL ME!!!! I AM JUST FURIOUS!!! PLEASE HELP ME PRAY THAT THE LORD CHANGE HER! MAKE ME MORE BOLD WHEN I GO IN TO SEE THE DOCTOR IN TWO WEEKS!! GIVE STEVE THE BOLDNESS TO SPEAK UP FOR OUR BABY BOY!!! AND THAT GOD ALL MIGHTY MAKE THIS WOMAN SEE THE VALUE OF LIFE!!! MY BABY boy is just so beautiful he is so precious! we just got our 4D ultrasound and DVD (will add picture tomorrow)yesturday his heart is perfectly strong all his organs are functioning. HE LOOKS LIKE HE IS SLEEPING!!! IT IS HARD enough to know that God's will for my sons life may not be for him to be here with me but rather that the Our Sovereign Lord may desire for Elijah's life to begin in Heaven. NOW WHO Does this woman think she is to make these types of desicions for me?! and based on what!?!?! that my sons "malformed" (in her words) head makes him worthless to her!!! I am sorry lady but my GOD says that HE (GOD) formd him (ELijah)that HE made all the delicate parts of his body...Psalms 139:13-17 Then why does she think she can possibly be so careless with my sons life!?!?!?!!!???! THE WORD OF GOD PROMISES ME & ELIJAH THAT NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER!!!! AND I INTEND TO STAND ON THAT PROMISE!!! GOD ALMIGHTY HELP ME AND MAY ALL THE PEOPLE OF GOD WHO PRAY PLEASE LIFT THIS SITUATION UP TO THE THRONE OF GOD!!! I am more than glad to accept the perfect will of MY LORD AND SAVIOR!!! BUT TO LET THIS WOMAN TAKE MY SONS LIFE FOR GRANTED I THINK NOT!!!! PLEASE WE NEED SO MUCH PRAYER PLEASE PASS THIS BLOGSITE TO ALL WHO WILL PRAY!!!!!!! elijahnathanieldouglas.blogspot.com

WE ARE BACK!!

we had been offline due to technical difficulties BUT WE ARE BACK NOW!!!! These are some of the photagraphers favorite pic's taken on SAT. MARCH 22nd!! "Family- Pregnancy Picture day". We met Estee our "Angel Babies Photagrapher" at Woodward Park in Fresno. Josiah was much more interested in the rocks to climb and mimicking the quacking ducks swimming in the water than taking pictures!! Kayla was most helpful constantly trying to persuade brother to PLEASE pose for a picture!
All in all we had a great day the weather was very pleasant and on our way home we stopped at "Boomers Adventure Park" I wished I had taken a camera!! Steve & Kayla drove the race cars as Josiah & I cheered them on! Josiah's favorite activity of the day was the spider stompper where he had to stomp on the red flashing light beneath his feet. Needless to say when we got home he took a very long nap. Kayla & I enjoyed some "GIRL'S TIME"!!! I hope you all enjoy these pictures as much as we have. Let us know which is YOUR FAVORITE!!!!!

A note From Elijah

Daddy & Mommy met with Pastor Marty & Sister Mona today. They talked about ME!!!
one of my favorite things I heard pastor say was; GOD HAS ALREADY DONE THE MIRACLE "THE MIRACLE OF LIFE" (My Life) YES!!! I AM VERY MUCH ALIVE!! just ask my mom and she'll tell you how many times I keep her up a night and whenever they pray for me at church, ask the people who put their hands on mommys tummy I KICK THEM TOO!!! like my Tia Cindy and the other day in the car I kicked my cousin Ben while at the swap meet.

I LOVED TO HEAR PASTOR MARTY TALK ABOUT MY LIFE; THE LIFE GOD HAS GIVEN ME TO LIVE STARTING THE MOMENT I WAS FORMED!!!

I can feel so much love! Love from my Mema (Grandma Uyoa: Mommy's mom) and my Tia's & especially My Nina Berba & Nino Ben. ALL MY COUSINS TOO! I have lots of them. MY big sister Kayla loves me too. She pats mommy's tummy alot and she tells me she loves me! She says I'm safe in mommy's tummy. My Big brother Josiah invites me to play races with him on the bike. You should see how funny mommy looks trying to waddle, I mean race next to Josiah!
Josiah also gives me milkshake and offers me whatever he eats!! I think he's a cool big brother.

I also made a special friend at Church: On sundays at church Pastor always says " Shake some ones hand & tell them you love them or God Bless You" well the other Sunday in church Kaeloha he's my friend. I know he is because he shook mommy's hand and then (ME) he patted her tummy!!!! He acknowleged me too!!!! He is my new friend! I know I have lots of people who love me and are praying for me. I have a very special friend who was born just like I am going to be; he already went to be with Jesus!!! I know he is enjoying being with Jesus!!!!

My cousin Josh made me this page so mommy & daddy can share with every one how things are doing and share how big I'm getting. DID YOU ALL SEE MY FEET?!?! they look just like Kayla's, Daddy's & Josiah's.

Elijah's feet!

February 13, 2008 we were told that our little blessing due to be born in late spring to early summer would not be with us for a lifetime, but rather for only a few short minutes with a very slight possibility of hours and even less chance of living days. The doctors said we could choose to terminate the pregnancy because there is no chance of survival they said “There is no hope or chance for survival. That he could be born stillborn. Steve said “that’s the doctors report, but who’s report will WE believe” Together we chose for our response to be worship. “BLESSED BE THE NAME; HE GIVES AND TAKES AWAY” OUR HOPE IS IN THE LORD THE ETERNAL HOPE OF GLORY!!!!

WE have chosen to name him:
Elijah Nathaniel Douglas.
Elijah means “God is my strength” and Nathaniel means “God Gave”

Steve and I are certain that GOD will see us through. WE ARE NOT certain how we will feel every day as we go through this but WE ARE CERTAIN that GOD IS WITH US!! HE WILL GIVE US THE STRENGTH AND SEE US THROUGH.

Together; with our children Kayla (9yrs) and Josiah (2yrs). WE STAND FIRM ON THE PROMISES OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. WE know that HE IS MORE THAN ABLE TO PERFORM A MIRACLE AND THAT ELIJAH CAN BE MADE WHOLE.

Nonetheless, we accept HIS perfect will and plan for our lives including what the outcome of “OUR MIRACLE” will be. Should Our Sovereign Lord Choose to take him home, WE KNOW THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE GLORIFIED EVEN IN THROUGH THIS STORM.

Please keep us in your prayers. DAILY!

Pray for Kayla to be able to experience the peace of God in her heart even as she goes back and forth to her mother’s home and will be away from us for periods of time. That her faith not be shaken but rather strengthened in Christ. That His Holy Spirit BE EVER PRESENT EVERY MINUTE OF HER DAYS even as questions may arise that she can feel his overwhelming peace that surpasses all understanding.

For Josiah pray that the Holy Spirit bathe him in His perfect peace. As he is much too young to know what is happening WE are certain that he can sense the tension of what we have been going through these past few days. He needs peace and security.

For Steve and I, pray that our strength will be renewed daily. That our faith in God will not waver, that we never lose hope and that some how the Lord reveal to us his plan for our life.
Pray that we be able to love each other stronger every day, to understand one another and our individual ways of dealing with our emotions and hopes as we trust IN GOD TO DO AS HE SEES FIT. That our unity and bond as a couple, as parents and as individuals will strengthen our relationship with our Savior and with each other.

For Elijah, pray that HE BE MADE WHOLE! Pray that HE be a MIRACLE OF GOD FOR ALL MEN TO SEE THE HAND OF GOD IN HIS LIFE; that the PERFECT will of God be done in our son’s life. Pray that he continue growing strong inside me. That he make it to full term and for a quick delivery. With no complications that would take precious time we want to spend with him when he arrives. We want to have as much time with him as the Lord will allow us. We want to take pictures with him.
We do not know who and or how this will affect our relatives and friends and or people we come in contact with on a daily basis. We ask that you let us know that you are with us. Whenever you feel an urge to pray for us please do so or to call or write to tell us you are praying for us. The word of the Lord says to bear one another’s burdens… WE WILL NEED TO BE REMINDED WE ARE SURROUNDED IN LOVE AND IN PRAYERS.
WE just pray that Gods Perfect Peace rule in our home. That our attitude daily will be to worship Him because HE is our refuge and strength. HE has promised us that HE would never leave us nor forsake us; to be with us always.

I am so grateful to God for the strength God has given Steve. The amount of faith he has been able to share with me as he leads our family through this. He has been able to speak words of encouragement to Kayla & I. Reminding us we do not lose hope for our hope is in Christ not in what man says. HE said “GOD HAS THE FINAL SAY”.

I am thankful for our church and Pastoral staff and teachers who have shared with us the word of Christ. The teachings we have received through out our walk with the Lord especially these last two years as the word of God has been planted in our hearts, which has prepared us for the season at hand.

When we told Kayla, immediately tears filled her beautiful blue eyes as she looked up at her daddy and I one of the very first things she said was, “BUT GOD CAN DO A MIRACLE MOM, HE can! I am going to pray and I believe enough that HE can do this!” Steve and I are so glad to see that even our children have a strong relationship with God. WE thank God once more for our church that has helped us in building them up strong in HIS ways!!!

Our prayer is that everyone who read this would come to know that you too can have the peace of God in your life through every trial and test of life, that you would know that you can call upon the name of the Lord and he can come to you in times of trouble. HE knows what you are facing at this very moment in your life and HE has promised never to leave you nor forsake you.
All you have to do if you are facing some type of trail is whisper this prayer of faith : Jesus Christ I believe you are the Son of God. I need you to help me. I am in need of your touch. I believe that you died on a cross to forgive my sins and I ask you at this very moment to come into my heart and be with me daily, that your Holy Spirit will guide me and be with me from this day forward. Amen.
